Just the beginning of a new way of thinking. At least for me.
There have been three men who recently impacted my life: the late Steve Jobs, the freak Jerry Sandusky, and the late Tom Peterson. These men have unknowingly inspired me to change my way of thinking, acting and reacting.
Steve Jobs: The enormous accolades that followed the passing of Steve Jobs were inspiring at the minimum. Everything that was said could be put on a bumper sticker. I want to do right for the world in which we live in.
Jerry Sandusky: Yes, Jerry Sandusky has me outraged and wanting to make things right. My heart goes out to the victims whose lives were valued less than that of the football gods and their glory. I am sick to my stomach every time I think about it. I want to do right for those victims and others who don't have a voice of their own.
Tom Peterson: This man was more amazing than I ever knew. Tom was my uncle (by marriage) and left our Earth unexpectedly for a better place on 11-11-11. The service was unique and the words that were spoken about Tom and how he lived his life were beyond what I knew of the uncle I saw most holidays and other occasional family gatherings. I want to do right for my loved ones and myself.
My new bumper sticker: Do right by (fill in the blank).
